Stella Bella, Shiraz

This is a wine of incredible quality considering the price. It’s supple and silky and simply makes you want another glass…. and another…

Tasting Notes: Vibrant, deep red with a purple hue. The intense aromas are abundant on the nose with scents of mulberries, plum and cherries, followed by light delicate spices of clove, cinnamon and white pepper.

The wine is medium to full bodied and the aromas follow beautifully through to the palate where they are enhanced with blueberry, sweet spice and varietal black pepper. It feels plush and velvety with a silky and juicy texture. The tannins are ripe and finely grained. The fresh acidity allows the flavours to linger leaving a salivating finish!

Producer Information

Margaret River is a small but major wine region in South Western Australia which produces around 3% of Australia’s grapes, but over 20% of Australia’s premium wine.

Stella Bella, established in 1998 by Stuart Pym, is a leading producer in the Margaret River region and like Pretty Screwed, Stella Bella believe one of life’s greatest pleasures is sharing the experience of beautiful wine.

Their approach to winemaking starts with celebrating the diversity of their five vineyards, taking advantage of their cooler climate and reflecting this in their wines. The Stella Bella philosophy is simple; to operate in a manner that consciously respects the vineyards as well as the local environment with minimal use of chemical inputs and fertilisers.

Industry experts say…
“The Margaret River Vintage in 2015 produced bright and fresh wines with delicate fruit flavours, high natural acidity and good balance. The vintage will be remembered for its very low crop levels which means these high quality wines will not be around long.

Awards and special notes

Stella Bella’s 2018 shiraz won a platinum award at Australia’s wine show in October 2018 demonstrating the quality coming from this producer.
