Tasting Notes: Hints of coffee and chocolate on the nose with ripe crushed berry, bitter cherry and sweet plummy fruit on the palate.
Giacomo Montresor sets out to protect the grapes at all times; during harvesting, fermentation, maturation and post bottling.
The grapes are hand harvested at the end of October and placed in barns to slowly dry out. This enriches the flavours for four months prior to the grapes being crushed. Maturation consists of slow aging in oak barrels to obtain the right level of refinement which completes the wines expression of individuality, balance and style that make this wine world renowned.
Blend: Corvina 70%, Rondinella 20%, Molinara 10%
Oak Treatment: Aged in Slavonian oak casks and small French barrique for two years.
