Henners, Henners Brut NV
The benchmark of quality and brilliance from a Great British vineyard.
Country of Production: England
Region: East Sussex
Tasting Notes: A touch of white blossom and crunchy green apple on the nose makes way for hints of honey and white mushroom. The palate is fine with a lively and persistent mousse. Green apple and pear fruit characters mix with a toasted brioche leesy flavour helping to provide a complex and more(ish) palate. Balanced acidity and a long wonderfully brisk finish make this a very classy sparkling wine.
This wine is produced from grapes grown in East Sussex where the estate has a unique combination of warm well drained soils, southerly aspect slope coupled with low altitude. The result is perhaps the finest vineyard microclimate in the country. The quality of the fruit makes a non-interventionist approach possible in the winery.
Vine clones and varieties are fermented separately to allow a broad palate of wines for final blending. Approximately 85% of the wine goes through malolactic fermentation. This wine spent around 48 months on its lees to add depth and richness before being disgorged in May 2018. Dosage of 7.5g/l.
Blend: Pinot Noir 38%, Chardonnay 34%, Pinot Meunier 28%
Oak Treatment: A proportion (10%) is fermented in aged oak barrels to add subtle character and layers to the wine.

Henners are an exclusive producer of some of the finest quality English Sparkling Wines which are hand-crafted with every attention to detail.
The Henners vineyard was planted in May 2007 by Lawrence Warr who had started his career as an automotive engineer in the exciting and competitive world of Formula One. He explains, “The Henners name derives from my French ancestry. Henners Dubois was forced to flee Paris during the French Revolution, in the late 18th century. Like many such emigrés of the time he fled to London. Once introduced to London Society he was unable to stop himself seducing the beautiful daughter of a prominent London churchman. The scandalous offspring was the first of our line.”
Based just 4 miles from the sea in Herstmonceux, East Sussex, the 7-acre vineyard creates award winning wines of depth, complexity and elegance using traditional champagne varieties of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.
Wine experts say…
“This is a wonderful example of English Sparkling Wine made from the traditional Champagne blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. It’s a serious rival to the best sparkling wines most famously associated with the Champagne region itself.“
